"2010 MONSOON SEASON"

This has been one of the wildest Monsoon (meaning moisture that comes up from Arizona & Sourthern Utah) Seasons that I can remember! This occurs every August. But this one has lasted most of the week, with wild Thunder & Lightning storms forming over Utah County.

WOW...Don't you just love these first two pics!!! This first picture says it all! If you are thinking this looks like a Tornado....Your right! It was confirmed on the KSL Weather! This picture I snapped was taken right as it was forming over good ole PG! A person from the Orem/Provo area got a snap shot from that angle showing the whole thing! It looked like a Cinn Roll! The part hanging down is the Tornado trying to drop! But, luckly it didn't! But made for a Spectacular photo

Shortly after it formed, with thunder and lightning cracking everywhere, it started to rain....

......Then it started to pour.....

......and then Hail, mixed in w/the rain....

It was like the clouds just tore open and all the rain just came pouring out!

The rain gutter were over flowing....too much so fast.....

Then just as quickly as it came....it left...leaving a surprise on the NE corner

of Timpanogus! Snow, or maybe it's deep Hail!!!! Wow, and it's only the

first of August

Then a while later, the National Weather Forcasting network, put a warning out over the TV

saying a huge storm with heavy rain, hail the size of a 50 cent piece and extreme thunder and lightning was expected to hit Lindon, PG, American Fork, Highland and Timpanogus! People were advised to seek shelter, for the lightning would be close to ground.

Sure enough, here it comes....the sky became extremely black, with strange cloud formations....

.....errey....but exciting!....

The sun was shinning in little places, but the dark clouds kept forming. These are my

big ole Poplars in the back yard, looking North.

Then the down pour started....again...rain gutters just couldn't hold

all that water....

The streets became little streams...muddy...

I wanted to go outside to get a good picture, but the lighting was striking way to

close for my comfort!! The Thunder shook the house! Then again at 11:00 that nite,

it hit again! Same thing, same discription. All the neighbors porch lights came on, and everyone just stood in their doorways watching this wild down pour! My sister Karen, in AF, picked up some of the Hail that hit them and put it in her freezer, so she could show her family how large it was. Soooo glad we didn't get the BIG Hail!...........Well, that's grandma's story of

one of the wildest storm days I've seen in a long time. Thankful we didn't get the flooding like

so many areas got. Mother Nature can be beautiful AND fierce!!!!
